Along with working as a nanny and day-care provider, Mrs. Kougias' prior employment history includes working as a draftsman and engineer for a major telecommunications company. She left the corporate world behind to concentrate on nurturing a growing family, which included meeting the educational needs of her children by instructing them at home until high school. She became an entrepreneur and founder of several child-related retail businesses, which became successful endeavors. Merrilan was honored to serve as the Director of American Heritage School for 10 years, during which time she coordinated, counseled, taught, and facilitated the educational and social activities of a group of exceptional children and their families. In addition, she has served in the leadership of numerous child, youth and sports organizations within the community, as well as teaching parenting classes, nursery, and Sunday school. Merrilan and Chris have been married for 24 years and are the proud parents of 5 successful adult children.

Kelly brings a wealth of unique knowledge and skills that accentuate C.T.R. Nanny's ability to find well-qualified candidates to meet each individual family's needs. Her experiences include working with at-risk and special needs children in both a professional setting and a volunteer environment. She has also had the invaluable experience as a live-in nanny for almost three years in Chappaqua, New York. Kelly's knowledge and level of maturity provided her the opportunity to act in the capacity of both mentor and confidant to other less experienced nannies in the Tri-State area. It was during this time that she began to perceive a need for an agency that catered not only to the families that they serve, but to provide for the continuing education and mentoring of nannies after their selection, to ensure a successful relationship between the families they care for and themselves. Kelly's reputation for aiding families in the New York area in their quest to secure quality nannies for their children began to grow. Upon the completion of her contract, the concept of Choose The Right Nanny, LLC became a reality. Her previous experience includes working as a day care instructor, and serving in the community as a volunteer in an after school program for at-risk students. While working on her degree Kelly worked as a part-time nanny for one of her professors, as well as a Unit Counselor in a psychiatric inpatient youth treatment center. Kelly also served a mission for her church. She holds a B.S. in Psychology, from Utah Valley State College.
